Can You Schedule Your Time?
Working from home is great since you can easily take care of the kids, the family and even yourself. However, you have to be able to set aside the time that you are actually going to work and avoid the temptation of trying to do two or more things at once.
When you are working customer service jobs from home you can’t be talking to the kids, watching television or surfing the internet, you have to be able to avoid these distractions and focus in the person on the phone or online.
Are You Self-Motivated?
Most customer service jobs from home are not going to be highly motivational jobs. They may be great paying jobs if you are lucky enough to work with an excellent company, but they are not a job where there is a room for advancement or where you are going to be motivated by your supervisor and coworkers. If you are able to motivate yourself then this is a good option for you.
Ideally having an office that is your work area is critical in being successful at customer service jobs from home. Once in this space you are on the clock and not thinking about anything else. Trying to work from home when the kids, other people, distractions and even the dog are around is going to make things much more difficult for you to succeed.
