For many, the mountains bring to mind a solitary cabin. It sits somewhere on a mountainside. Pristine snow and snow-covered fir trees surround it. When planning a vacation in Colorado, they conjure up this image. However, when it comes to staying in Rocky Mountain National Park Lodging, cabins are definitely out. In fact, most National Parks in Colorado, including the very popular Rocky Mountain National Park, do not have any type of hotel or similar accommodation on site.

But, I Want a Cabin

While you may not find the perfect affordable cabin on a mountain peak, you can find available cabins close to the mountains. In Grand Lake, for example, you can stay in a cabin that is close to the Park and its mountains. It may hide from view by whispering pine trees or be close to a lake.

Grand Lake is a popular place to find a cabin, in the summer or winter. It is not the only community close to a Rocky Mountain National Park. Lodging is also available in cabins scattered around and near the four other National Parks in Colorado. Estes Park, Mancos and Almont are three possible options if you want to be close to Rocky Mountain National Park, Mesa Verde National Park or Great Sand Dunes National Park.

What to Expect from Rocky Mountain National Park Lodging

If you yearn for rustic, you can find it in a mountain cabin. However, the definition of rustic has altered somewhat over the years. In the past, rustic included the lack of certain amenities. Today, however, cabins are rustic to look at, but they are also replete with modern amenities. In other words, the rustic cabin you book may have Wi-Fi, cable television and a microwave, as well as hot and cold running water, indoor plumbing, heating and a variety of conveniences definitely lacking in the original concept of “rustic.” This and so much more you can expect from Rocky Mountain National Park Lodging rustic cabin style.
