How do you make the most of trade show exhibits to ensure you maximize your ability to connect and resonate with as many people as possible? Taking the time to set up a creative and dynamic display can help you ensure that you get people wanting to stop, wanting to talk to you, wanting to take your literature with them. Here are some tips:

Use as Much Space as Possible without Crowding

You’ve got a limited amount of space to use for your trade show exhibits and you want to use it wisely. But don’t overcrowd the space or it could leave less of an impact on those who stop to view it than you’d hoped for.  Uncluttered and impactful items and trade show display materials can make a difference. Is there a theme you’re going for? Do you have a good mix of branded materials that will make people want to stop and take notice?

Budget Enough for the Trade Show

As you start to move through the trade show circuit you’ll see that there really are some great opportunities that happen as a result of your participation.  But you’ll probably also see that some of the others at the same shows as you have spent a lot on their trade show exhibits. You might not have seen a ROI yet that makes you want to invest in displays, counters, flooring, and so forth but you need to have at least the basics in order to be noticed.

Consider seed investing from converted leads that come from trade shows into further exhibits. While some expenses are ongoing, such as printed literature and promotional gifts, there are elements that cost a bit initially but that can be used repeatedly for years.

Pick Your Team Carefully

Good salespeople belong at tradeshows. Not all salespeople can get attention from a crowd at these events but if you’ve got the right people in place, those who can talk confidently about your product and serve as brand evangelists, you’ll have a greater chance of success instead of cycling through all team members, meaning introverts who are uncomfortable will sit and wait to be approached.

Plan Your Approach

Once you’ve got a great trade show exhibit / display together, the right team, and you know your trade show exhibit really pops think about the right approach. A game plan for attracting and getting participation is important. So is the lead follow-up plan for after the tradeshow is over.
