When tanning, it is possible to have several different options to consider in equipment. One is the traditional tanning bed, where you rest on your back and there are bulbs on the top and bottom of the bed. The second is a standing tanning booth, where you stand in the booth with bulbs all around you.
For people who have tried tanning and found the beds hot, claustrophobic and unnerving, finding a salon offering a standing tanning booth may be just what you have been missing. This, plus several other reasons, is why more and more people are seeking out salons with the option to tan standing up.
Clean and Contact Free
One of the most obvious benefits of a standing tanning booth is there is little to no contact between the user and the booth. In the old style of beds there was direct contact, at least with the bottom of the tanning bed. Despite being cooled with fans they are still warm to hot, and individuals do sweat inside the beds.
With the higher than typical UV light it is a very germ-free environment, but sanitation is still a concern for most clients and customers. With the standing beds there is no contact, so just a quick wipe down between users is all that is required.
More Even Tan
The design of a standing tanning booth also results in a more even tan. Your body is in the upright position with no areas of contact, creating a more uniform surface to the skin. Also, with the traditional tanning bed, the lack of bulbs on the side made getting an even tan all around the body much more difficult.
With a standing tanning booth you are able to raise your arms and even move your legs apart to get to the areas of the body, such as the inner arm area and the insides of the upper and lower legs, which are impossible to tan in a traditional bed.
Faster and More Comfortable
With no direct skin contact, it is safe to use a slightly higher level of bulb in a standing tanning booth. This will mean, for some skin tones, a slightly faster tanning time with overall shorter tanning sessions.
Many people prefer the standing tanning booth experience to the traditional booth. You are able to move around, it is cooler and more comfortable, and many people find it is a more comfortable, faster and more complete tanning option.
