As you update, repair or install a completely new HVAC system, the company providing the work will almost certainly offer you an air conditioning service contract or they may call it a maintenance agreement. Essentially, this is a plan for professional engineers to return regularly and check your system, so they can detect potential small faults before they become big problems.

What Agreement Will You Be Expected to Sign?

The air conditioning service company will be able to plan and budget for its operation, when it knows how many customers it is expected to visit during the year. In this way, they will always know when they are going to visit you and will have experienced professionals available to help you at any time.

The service or maintenance contract delivers an agreement for the company to provide a specific standard of service for your HVAC system, on agreed dates, during the year. In return, you are agreeing to pay the fee to the company for the work that they expect to carry out.

The contract will almost certainly include a complete checkup of your system and an effective mini overhaul just before the summer starts when you require your system to cool your house and again before winter begins, so that your heating system can provide warm air to your property.

Some contracts will provide all the parts that may be required. You should check that the contract states whether any essential parts are included or are an extra cost.

By agreeing to the contract, you will know whether emergency callouts are included or whether the parts are charged separately, according to the work and parts required at the time.

It should be obvious that the more sections of the agreement that are included, then you will be paying more, regularly, to the air conditioning service company. You can set the number of elements of the contract that match your specific budget, knowing that any extra service conditions will need to be paid for when the work is completed.
