This amazing structure was built 1869 in Highland Park. It was majorly built for James Scott Negley, a civil war man. In 1970’s, it was bought by Alexander King, but it burned down in 1879. However, the maintenance was poor with hardwood floors now being covered with tile and track lighting instead of beautiful chandeliers. “Clayton” The Frick Family Estate
It is an Italic structure in Point Breeze built in 1860’s. The architect of the structure is still unknown, but history has it that the popular Frick family bought it in 1881. In 1883 they made it their primary residence, building more structures including Frick children’s playhouse. Even today “Clayton” is a still phenomenon cultural landmark for Pittsburgh having been opened for the public visit in 1990.
