If you are getting married on Long Island, it is important to find the perfect hall for your reception. There are a number of wedding catering halls on Long Island to choose from, but not all of them are going to be the best choice for you. Fortunately, there are some things that you should be focusing on when seeking out a venue. Once you do, you can have confidence that you will find the perfect hall for your wedding.

Adequate Parking

One thing that you should look for when choosing a wedding catering hall is that there is adequate parking available for your guests. If parking is not available on site, then look into a shuttle or limo service to bring your guests to and from their vehicles.

Take a Look at the Size

The size of the venue is also important. A venue that is meant for 100 people will not be comfortable for a reception that has 300 guests. On the flip side, having 100 guests in a venue made for 300 can seem large, empty and unimpressive. Take some time to find the perfect size for your guests.

Think About Decor

Some wedding halls will allow you to bring in your own decorations, others will do it all for you. It is important that you decide what you want to do about decorations before choosing the wedding reception location. You don’t want to have your heart set on decorations that the company doesn’t offer. You also don’t want to assume that they will take care of all the decorations then find out that this is a service they do not offer to their customers.

Consider Lighting and Acoustics

It is also important to take a look on the inside of the hall you are considering. First, you will want to take a look at the lighting. Having ambient lighting at a reception is important to bring the whole thing together in a perfect way. Acoustics will come into play when the speeches are going on and when the celebratory band or DJ takes the stage.

By keeping all of the above in mind before you choose a certain wedding reception venue, you can be sure that you are finding the perfect place for you and your new spouse. Take your time, ask questions and if possible, try to attend an event at the reception hall before your own. This will give you the chance to find out what it’s like before you make up your mind.
