With all the home improvement shows and décor magazines, you may hear a lot about countertops and the best one to use for your house. What you may not realize is that there are other options besides tile and granite. Granite is a widely popular material because it looks great, lasts a long time, and is affordable for most homeowners. There is another material made of counters and it is quartz. Quartz countertops in Colorado Springs are gaining popularity as a material that is actually more durable than granite.

On the scale of hardness, quartz comes out ahead of granite, making it an excellent choice for your kitchen and even bathrooms. Quartz countertops in Colorado Springs require much less maintenance than granite and are actually less porous. This means they will not need to be sealed on a regular basis and they will be able to repel stains much easier. Granite, while attractive, is a porous stone that does contain flecks of other materials within, giving it the color variability that many people prefer in their kitchen. This does mean it can crack more easily than quartz but can provide some color and difference over the quartz countertops.

The differences in the style of granite and quartz are personal. You may like the look of one over the other but as far as the aesthetics of the pieces, there is no benefit to one over the other. Sometimes you may find a piece of one on sale or just the right mix of colors that will fit into your space. Did you know that either can be used in a bathroom, not just only the kitchens? You may have a laminate counter in your bathroom and it is soaking up the water that is in your bathroom on a daily basis. Not only will the counters begin to warp, but the laminate can cause the sinks and cabinets to fall apart. Why not switch out the softer materials for a more durable, hard option such as quartz countertops so that your bathroom will not need a major overhaul in a couple years due to mildew. Not only can a kitchen and bathroom benefit from a hard material like quartz for a counter surface but any surface that needs to be durable due to moisture and activity that can wear it down would do well with a quartz countertops in Colorado Springs.
