Finding a Good Real Estate Agent in Washington County

If you are interested in buying or selling a house in Washington County, you need a good real estate agent, though this can be somewhat difficult. Every city and state offer many agent options, so you have to seek out just the right one. While difficult, it is not impossible, especially if you follow a few helpful tips.

Meeting

When meeting an agent for the first time, make sure you meet them out in their environment and not their office. Most real estate agents in Washington County and elsewhere spend very little time in their physical office because they are always out working, scouring and helping others. This is what you want to see when you search for your agent.

Experience

As with many other things in life, experience is important. The real estate agent you select should have been in business for at least two years. Look at how many years they have been working as an agent and how many properties they have personally closed to get a good idea of their experience level. The best real estate agent will be able to get a non-seller to sell their home.

Open House

If you are searching for an agent, consider visiting an open house. It doesn’t matter if you don’t want that particular house. In the modern world, open houses are not the best way to sell a home, but rather a good way to meet prospective buyers of homes. However, the real estate agent may ask you what you liked and didn’t like about that particular home in Washington County to get a better idea of what you want.

Online Presence

Your agent must have an online presence, both through a personal website and social media. Without a laptop and a cellular phone, an agent cannot function outside his or her office, which means they likely don’t sell a lot of homes.

Interview

Don’t be embarrassed to call up a few real estate agents and ask them specific questions about their industry, experience and knowledge. You are paying a lot of money for a nice home and will be paying them a commission too, so don’t be afraid to get what you want.

Good real estate agents understand that trust building is a key part of the agent-client partnership and they should let you look for several hours to get a feel for the types of homes they sell and what they can do.

Be the first to like.
